Arrival to Beirut International Airport. Meet, assist and transfer to chosen hotel.
After breakfast; morning city tour of Beirut (Beirut reconstruction project, Pigeon Rock, National Museum).
Continue north to naher elkaleb where history's great conquerors carved on the cliffs 19 inscriptions in
memory of their glory. Driving 20 Km north of Beirut the road leads to the Jeita Grotto, one of Lebanon's most
unusual tourist attractions, an enormous cavern festooned with every shape and size of stalactite and
stalagmite. Stop for lunch, and then continue to Byblos to visit the Crusaders' castle, the Phoenician temples,
the Roman theatre and the Royal Necropolis. Return to Beirut.
After breakfast; drive south to Deir El Kamar, former capital of Mount Lebanon, which still retains in its
pretty town square several palaces and a mosque from the 17th and 18th Centuries. Proceed to Beiteddine and
visit the magnificent Palace of Emir Bechir where you can see the complex and its museum (old weapons and
costumes). Return to Beirut.
After breakfast; early departure to Baalbeck, road climbs to Dahr El Baidar, then descent to the magnificent
Bekaa plain. A short stop at Chtaura, then proceed to Baalbeck to visit the most colossal monuments ever to be
found from the Roman period, the temple of Jupiter with its sumptuous columns, the richly decorated temple of
Bacchus and the original pentagonal temple of Venus. Typical lunch at a local restaurant, then the visit of Anjar,
the unique fortified city in Lebanon. Return to Beirut.
After breakfast; depart towards the North of Lebanon to visit the Cedars forest and mountain where some
trees are over 1000 years old. Continue to Besharre the hometown of the famous Lebanese writer Gebran Khalil
Gebran where you can visit the town and the museum. Stop for lunchand then continue to Tripoli, the modern
city that preserves jealously its medieval old religious edifices and public buildings. In the old city you can see
the Crusader Castle of Raymond de St. Gilles, mosques from the Mameluks period, Koranic schools, oriental
Bazaars and Turkish baths. Return to Beirut.
After breakfast; transfer to Beirut International Airport for departure flight.
